No, it's a common method of obtaining OS/Thread information in an optimized fashion.

And no, the client doesn't tell the server anything important other then mouse movements and keypresses (laymens terms). And even those are tested for accuracy.

If I wanted to hide how gstats works, or anything else, why would I make it all publically availble, help people through PM's/emails on how to do certain things, and never deny anything when asked by ArenaNET?

You can continue to make a beef to ArenaNET but they wont care. Those tut's have been there since Feb, and have already been 'reported' to ArenaNET by other idiots. If I cared I would just write a tutorial for a fictional game called Wuild Gars.
